The extension is the fourth since Sam Pinkleton’s revival opened on Thursday, April 23, 2026, after previews from March 26, and it rests on the strongest box office the building has seen: the production took $1,215,225 in the week ending June 28, 2026, a Studio 54 house record that also made it the highest-grossing show ever to play the theater. If it plays out the new date, the production will have been at Studio 54 for more than 14 months from its first preview.

The news lands a day before a change in the cast. Margaret Cho, a five-time Grammy and Emmy nominee, steps in as the Narrator on Tuesday, November 3, making her Broadway debut, as announced last month.

She joins a company led by Jake Shears as Frank-N-Furter, with Lorna Courtney as Janet, Kevin McHale as Brad, Amber Gray as Riff Raff, Sherie Rene Scott as Magenta, Valentina as Columbia, Jimin Moon as Rocky and George Salazar as Eddie and Dr. Scott. Renée Albulario, Anania, Boy Radio, Tassy Kirbas, Preston Perez, Caleb Quezon, Andres Quintero and Paul Soileau complete the cast.

The company spent Halloween week in front of national audiences, performing on ABC’s The View on Friday, October 30 and recording a set for NPR’s Tiny Desk, then gave a late-night performance on Saturday, October 31 that finished with a midnight curtain call for a house full of costumes.

Richard O’Brien’s musical, which first opened at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 1973, collected nine Tony nominations for this staging, Best Revival of a Musical among them, along with six Drama Desk, four Drama League, two Outer Critics Circle and two Chita Rivera Award nominations. Choreography is by Ani Taj, music supervision by Kris Kukul, sets by dots, costumes by David I. Reynoso, lighting by Jane Cox and sound by Brian Ronan. The producers are Trafalgar Entertainment, the Dodgers and Roundabout Theatre Company.

An Original Broadway Cast Recording, featuring the opening company led by Luke Evans, has been made for StarVista Music; no release date has been set.

The show runs at Studio 54, 254 West 54th Street. Performances are Tuesday to Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 3pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm and 7pm, and tickets are now on sale through Sunday, May 30, 2027. A limited number of $30 seats, fees included, are released for each performance through an in-person rush at the Studio 54 box office and a digital lottery on TodayTix.
