The Narrator’s chair at Studio 54 is changing hands again. Margaret Cho takes over the role in The Rocky Horror Show on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and it will be her Broadway debut. Rachel Dratch plays her final performance in the part on Sunday, November 1.
Cho arrives from stand-up, where she has headlined more than ten tours of her own, and from a screen career that has brought five Grammy and Emmy nominations. Recent work includes the Hulu comedy Fire Island, Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex, guest turns on Hacks, The Flight Attendant, Dying for Sex and Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and two Netflix Is a Joke specials, one of them Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution. Her newest film, All That We Love, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Dratch, a Tony nominee, has played the Narrator since the revival’s first company, stepping away only for a two-week stretch this month when Rosie O’Donnell covered the role.
Cho joins a company led by Jake Shears as Frank-N-Furter, with Lorna Courtney and Kevin McHale as Janet and Brad, Amber Gray as Riff Raff, Sherie Rene Scott as Magenta, Valentina as Columbia, Jimin Moon as Rocky and George Salazar as Eddie and Dr. Scott. Renée Albulario, Anania, Boy Radio, Tassy Kirbas, Preston Perez, Caleb Quezon, Andres Quintero and Paul Soileau complete the cast.
Sam Pinkleton directs the revival of Richard O’Brien’s musical, first seen at London’s Royal Court Theatre in 1973. Presented by Trafalgar Entertainment, the Dodgers and Roundabout Theatre Company, it began previews on March 26, 2026, opened on April 23 and drew nine Tony nominations, Best Revival of a Musical among them. In the week ending June 28 it took $1,215,225, a Studio 54 house record, and it now stands as the highest-grossing production the theater has housed.
The show runs at Studio 54, 254 West 54th Street. Performances are Tuesday to Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 3pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm and 7pm, and tickets are on sale through Sunday, February 28, 2027. A limited number of $30 seats, fees included, are released for each performance through an in-person rush at the box office and a digital lottery.
