Stranger Things: The First Shadow is holding its second Hawkins High School Homecoming Week at the Marquis Theatre, with a different fan event every night from Tuesday, November 3 to Friday, November 6, which is Stranger Things Day.
Each event is tied to a partner from the wider Stranger Things world, and takes place at the theater for that night's audience.
Tuesday, November 3: ticket holders can make friendship bracelets themed to the play in the lobby before the performance.
Wednesday, November 4: the audience receives a 15% discount on tickets for Stranger Things: The Diner, an immersive dining experience from Bucket Listers that opens in New York on November 18. Inspired by the Netflix series, it offers themed food and drinks, photo spots and interactive rooms. Details of the diner are on the Bucket Listers site.
Thursday, November 5: Dark Horse Comics gives each attendee a limited-edition print of the cover of its graphic novel adaptation of the play.
Friday, November 6: on Stranger Things Day itself, Sharpie takes over the lobby. Fans are invited to color in and sign an oversized mural of the Mind Flayer with custom markers branded for the production, and everyone in the house gets a co-branded Sharpie to keep while supplies last. Members of the cast stay on after the show for a talkback.
The production describes the week as a thank-you to the fans who have built a community around it.
Since opening at the Marquis the play has broken box office records, and it won four Tony Awards in 2025, more than any other play that season: Best Scenic Design of a Play, Best Lighting Design of a Play, Best Sound Design of a Play, and a Special Tony Award for Illusions and Technical Effects. Between its West End and Broadway companies it has now played more than 1,500 performances and sold nearly 1.8 million tickets.
Kate Trefry wrote the play from an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne and Trefry, setting it in the world of the Netflix series. It was Netflix's first move into theater, and is presented with Sonia Friedman Productions. Stephen Daldry directs, with Justin Martin as co-director.
The Broadway run has been extended for a final time and ends on Sunday, January 3, 2027. Tickets start at $59.75: book Stranger Things: The First Shadow on Broadway.
