Bradley Whitford leans back in the witness chair and grins. Tom Blyth, in Navy dress blues, leans in. That is the frame leading the first production photos from Lincoln Center Theater’s A Few Good Men, shot by Emilio Madrid and released hours before the first-ever Broadway revival of Aaron Sorkin’s courtroom drama opens at the Vivian Beaumont Theater tonight, Thursday, October 29.
The new set shows the scale of Michael Arden’s staging. Dane Laffrey’s set is a hangar of steel stairways, catwalks and hanging work lamps. Flags flank the bench. In one shot a line of Marines in dress uniform works through a rifle drill under a single shaft of light; in another, the whole courtroom sits small inside the cavern. The last official image was a single first-look company shot, also by Madrid, released on October 8 as previews began.
Tom Blyth makes his Broadway debut as LTJG Daniel Kaffee, a Navy lawyer who would rather settle a case than see it go to trial. Krysta Rodriguez plays LCDR JoAnne Galloway, the attorney set on proving two young Marines innocent of murder, and Bradley Whitford plays LtCol Nathan R. Jessep. The evidence leads the defense to a cover-up, and from there to a fight with the whole chain of command.
The rest of the company is Stephanie Berry (CAPT J. A. Randolph), Nick Blaemire (LTJG Sam Weinberg), Michael Braugher (Cpl Jeffrey Howard), Christopher Gurr (CDR Walter Stone), Billy Eugene Jones (CAPT Isaac Whitaker), Collin Kelly-Sordelet (PFC Louden Downey), Shunté Lofton (Orderly), Michael Oberholtzer (Capt Jack Ross), Lavel Schley (LCpl Harold W. Dawson), Thom Sesma (Maj Matthew Markinson), Daniel Velez (PFC William T. Santiago) and John Zdrojeski (1stLt Jonathan Kendrick). Brendan Behm, Alex Ekker, Drew Elhamalawy, Miles Fowler, Quentin Nguyen-duy and Stephen Michael Spencer fill out the ranks as Marines and military personnel. Peter Bradbury, Tim Creavin, Mahira Kakkar and Austin Phillips are the understudies.
Costumes are by Alejo Vietti, lighting by Japhy Weideman and sound by Joshua D. Reid. Cookie Jordan designs hair and wigs, Ricky Ubeda is movement director, Gabriel Mann wrote the original music and Kate Wilson is voice coach. Casting is by The Telsey Office, and Charles Means is production stage manager. Lincoln Center Theater produces in association with No Guarantees Productions, Tom Kirdahy, Kevin Ryan, Lamar Richardson and Mary Sullivan.
The run is set at 13 weeks and ends Sunday, January 10, 2027. Tickets are sold through Lincoln Center Theater, by phone at 212-239-6200 and at the Lincoln Center Theater box office.
