Both discount routes into the first Broadway revival of Other Desert Cities are priced at the same figure, $49, and both open before the first preview on Tuesday, September 29.
Producers of Other Desert Cities have set the terms on which the cheapest seats at the Hudson Theatre will be sold, and they have settled on one number for both: $49, through a digital lottery on Lucky Seat and a digital rush on TodayTix. The play begins previews on Tuesday, September 29 and opens on Sunday, October 18, and the limited engagement runs only through Sunday, January 17, 2027, so between them the two policies cover a little under sixteen weeks of performances.
Lucky Seat digital lottery
Entries open today at 12PM ET and a Lucky Seat account is required to enter. For weekday performances, entries are accepted until 10:30AM ET the day before the performance, with winners selected from 11AM ET and further draws running through the day as needed. For weekend performances, entries close at 10:30AM ET on the Friday beforehand, with selection again beginning at 11AM ET on the same terms.
Winners have a limited window in which to buy and claim their tickets, so an entry is worth watching on the day it is drawn. The limit is two tickets per patron, locations and quantities depend on what is left in the house, and seats may be partial view. Entries are taken at LuckySeat.com.
TodayTix digital rush
The rush runs on the morning of each performance, opening at 9AM ET in the TodayTix app on iOS or Android. Each user may buy up to two tickets for that afternoon or evening's performance, the allocation is limited and sold first-come, first-served, and seats may again be partial view. The app will send an alert when the day's tickets go live, which on an allocation this size is worth setting.
Neither policy carries a student or age restriction, and neither is entered in person: the lottery runs on the web and the rush inside the TodayTix app. The theater is the Hudson, at 141 West 44th Street.
The production is the first Broadway revival of Jon Robin Baitz's play, which premiered Off-Broadway in January 2011, transferred to Broadway that November and was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This staging is directed by John Benjamin Hickey and stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ed Harris, Allison Janney, Joe Keery and Lily Rabe. Full-price tickets are on sale at otherdesertcitiesbroadway.com.
