Marc delaCruz joins the company of Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen in the role of Sakae, and Alexa De Barr joins as a swing. The new musical begins performances on Friday, September 25.

Opening night is set for Thursday, October 15. The production is booking through Sunday, January 3, 2027, at The Night Egg at the Culture Club, 530 West 27th Street, a theater opening with this production in the space that previously housed the nightclub Twilo and, later, Sleep No More. Tickets start at $71.

The credits of delaCruz include Hamilton and If/Then on Broadway, Ordinary Days at Keen Company and Three Days to See at Transport Group off-Broadway, and the national tours of If/Then and Disney's High School Musical. Regional work includes Allegiance at The Old Globe, The Family Album at La Jolla Playhouse and Vietgone at Studio Theatre.

The engagement is an off-Broadway debut for De Barr, a Broadway dance captain on Moulin Rouge! The Musical whose other credits include Death Becomes Her and the first national tours of Moulin Rouge! and An American in Paris.

They join a company led by Sophia Anne Caruso as Colette, with Cory Jeacoma as Léon, Nkeki Obi-Melekwe as Nana and Drama Desk Award nominee Jenny Powers as Madame.

Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen has music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik and a book by Leah Nanako Winkler, adapted from the manga of the same name by Moyoco Anno. Rob Ashford directs and choreographs. Music supervision and the vocal and incidental music arrangements are by Or Matias, with sets by Scott Pask, costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Brian Tovar and sound by Cody Spencer.

Anno's manga, serialized between 2013 and 2018 and later collected in two volumes, took the Excellence Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival in 2020. It is the first Japanese manga to be adapted into an American musical in English. The story follows Colette, a young writer in 20th-century Paris who takes work at a maison close called the Night Egg and begins setting down what its clients confess to her; the venue is named for the same establishment.

Tickets for Memoirs of Amorous Gentlemen at The Night Egg at the Culture Club are on sale for performances from Friday, September 25, 2026 to Sunday, January 3, 2027.
