Violet's Magic Glasses, a new children's musical, plays its last weekends at 92NY

Title artwork for Violet's Magic Glasses at 92NY Violet's Magic Glasses, a new musical for children aged 5 to 10, has performances left on November 8, 14, 15 and 22 at 92NY's Buttenwieser Hall.

The show opened on November 1 and runs about 50 minutes.

Its heroine, Violet, is starting second grade and finds that letters and words never look right to her, while her classmates seem to move ahead without trouble. She comes across a pair of glasses she is convinced are magic and expects them to fix everything. They do not. What helps is believing in herself, asking for help and finding the strategies that suit the way she learns. The musical deals with learning differences, friendship and perseverance.

For children seeing a show for the first time, 92NY offers a downloadable social story that explains what to expect on the day.

Buttenwieser Hall is in 92NY's Arnhold Center at Lexington Avenue and 92nd Street. Book tickets for Violet's Magic Glasses.
