Tickets start at $25 including fees, and the show is recommended for ages 7 and up.

The Brooklyn company is led by MacArthur “Genius” Award winner Elizabeth Streb, who choreographs the work and shares artistic direction with Cassandre Joseph. Its performers, billed as Action Heroes, dive, flip and crash onto and off the apparatus the company calls Action Machines, in a run of short action events built on gravity, speed, momentum and impact.

The cast is Tre Hunt, Zil Inami, Cassandre Joseph, Andrea Laisure, Kai Rizzuto, Jaylen Taylor, Amelia Tremain and D’Sherrick Williams. Design is by Matt McAdon (set), Andrea Lauer (costumes), Adam Greene (lighting) and Taro Baugham (sound).

The show lasts 50 minutes with no intermission. Halfway through, a t-shirt cannon sends shirts to every level of the house, so audiences are asked to stay in their seats. The age guidance reflects the show’s deliberate pace; the company’s own Brooklyn space, the STREB Lab for Action Mechanics, teaches classes for children from 18 months.

The New Victory Theater is at 209 West 42nd Street. New Victory members save 35% on tickets.
