The Tony Awards will stay on the CBS Television Network through 2032 under a new broadcast agreement, and the 80th ceremony now has a date: Sunday, June 13, 2027, live to both coasts on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
The extension was announced on November 4 by Tony Awards Productions and CBS. Tony Awards Productions is the joint venture through which the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League present the awards, and the new deal continues a partnership that began with the network’s first Tonys telecast in 1978 and has now covered 48 years of ceremonies.
The 80th Annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live on CBS to both the East and West Coasts on Sunday, June 13, 2027, with a simultaneous stream on Paramount+ (Premium) in the U.S. Agreeing terms now gives the ceremony a settled broadcast home for the anniversary edition and for the five that follow it, through the 2032 telecast.
The production team is largely unchanged. Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall and Jack Sussman return as producers of the 2027 show, with Kapoor and Levine Hall again sharing showrunner duties. Patrick Menton and Rob Paine are co-executive producers, and Menton also serves as head of talent.
In a joint statement, Heather Hitchens, President and CEO of the American Theatre Wing, and Jason Laks, President of The Broadway League, pointed to the anniversary, saying they “look forward to marking the 80th anniversary of the Tony Awards with our best show yet.” Amy Reisenbach, President of CBS Entertainment, called the awards “a cornerstone” of the network’s history of putting the creative arts on television.
The 2026–2027 Tony Awards Nominating Committee was named in September. Further details of the 80th ceremony, including its host, have not yet been announced and are expected in the coming weeks.
The full announcement is on the Tony Awards website.
