The 18th annual Jimmy Awards, the national showcase for high school musical theater performers, will be held on Monday, June 21, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre.
The Broadway League Foundation set the date on October 21, eight months out. The ceremony returns to the Minskoff, at 200 West 45th Street, which also staged the 2026 edition on June 22.
Formally the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, the Jimmys draw on regional high school competitions run by presenters of touring Broadway productions across the United States, involving around 180,000 students. Each regional program sends two nominees to New York, where more than 100 young performers from over 50 regions spend ten days in coaching sessions and rehearsals with Broadway professionals before taking the stage on the night.
The awards carry the name of the Broadway theater owner and producer James M. Nederlander. Founded in 2009 by Nederlander Alliances, Pittsburgh CLO and the Broadway Education Alliance, the program has been the catalyst for more than $9 million in educational scholarships, according to the League.
“There is truly nowhere I would rather be on June 21 than watching these remarkable students take the Broadway stage,” said Jason Laks, president of the Broadway League.
The host, presenters and ticket details for the 2027 ceremony have not yet been announced.
