Tichina Arnold makes her Broadway debut in & Juliet on Tuesday, November 3, joining the company at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre for the final two months of a run that ends on Sunday, January 3, 2027. James Monroe Iglehart comes back as Lance the same night.

Arnold is best known on television, from Martin and Everybody Hates Chris to eight seasons of CBS’s The Neighborhood, where she also directed an episode, and on film she was part of the 1986 Little Shop of Horrors. Her stage credits have so far been away from Broadway: The Wiz at New York City Center, the Off-Broadway Love, Loss, and What I Wore and, earlier, The Me Nobody Knows at the Billie Holiday Theatre in Brooklyn. The announcement does not say which role she will play.

Iglehart, a Tony winner as the Genie in Aladdin, is reprising a role already played in this production, and takes over from Joey Fatone, who plays a final performance as Lance on Sunday, November 1. Alison Luff (Anne) and Jeannette Bayardelle (Angélique) leave the same day, and on November 3 Aly Michalka steps in as Anne, also a Broadway debut.

One arrival comes sooner. Cyrus Veyssi, the writer and comedian whose casting was announced earlier, makes their Broadway debut as May on Tuesday, October 13, and stays through Sunday, December 6.

Four of the newer company members are now staying to the end. Corey Mach (Shakespeare), Spencer Sutherland (Romeo), Anthony Gargiula (François) and Kenzie Ziegler (Charmion) have all extended through the final performance. For two of them that is a change of plan: when Gargiula, Sutherland and Ziegler were first photographed in the show last month, Ziegler was due to leave on November 1 and Gargiula on December 6.

The closing date is what gives the casting its shape. By January 3 the musical will have run more than four years and passed 1,700 performances at the Sondheim. David West Read wrote the book around the pop catalogue of Max Martin, from Since U Been Gone to I Want It That Way, imagining what Juliet does with her life once she decides not to end it. Luke Sheppard directs, with choreography by Jennifer Weber, and Gianna Harris currently plays Juliet. The production was nominated for nine Tony Awards, Best Musical among them.

Same-day rush seats cost $49, sold in person at the Sondheim box office from 10am on performance days, with a digital rush on TodayTix from 9am. On sold-out performances only, the box office also sells standing room at $45.
