Kenzie Ziegler hangs in mid-leap in front of the neon title sign in the first production photographs of the newest arrivals in & Juliet at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
The pictures, by Matthew Murphy, show the three performers who made their Broadway debuts in the musical on Tuesday, September 15: Anthony Gargiula as François, Spencer Sutherland as Romeo, and Ziegler in the featured dance role of Charmion.
Two of the three engagements come with end dates. Ziegler stays with the company through Sunday, November 1, and Gargiula through Sunday, December 6.
They join a company that includes Joey Fatone, back as Lance. Cyrus Veyssi and Aly Michalka are due to join later this fall.
The musical, with a book by David West Read and songs by Max Martin and his collaborators, picks up Shakespeare’s tragedy at the moment Juliet decides not to die for Romeo and sets off to build a life of her own instead.
The clock is running on the Broadway production. It plays its final performance on Sunday, January 3, 2027, more than four years after it opened at the Sondheim.
