Key art for The Dog Show: Come. Sit. Stay. at the Triad Theater, announcing the full cast Four actors will give voice to the dogs in David Javerbaum’s new comedy, which begins performances at the Triad Theater on October 13.

Jordan Matthew Brown, Gizel Jiménez, Angela Reed and A.J. Shively are the company of The Dog Show: Come. Sit. Stay., the new comedy by David Javerbaum at the Triad Theater, 158 West 72nd Street. Previews begin October 13 and the play opens on October 18 for a limited engagement through November 29.

The play is a sequence of monologues spoken by dogs, so between them these four carry every voice in it. Javerbaum has been here before in a sense: An Act of God, his Broadway comedy for Jim Parsons and later Sean Hayes, handed the stage to a single speaker no one gets to interview. This time there are four, and they want to talk about bath time.

“I’m thrilled to finally have our four people who will be dogs,” Javerbaum said. “It’s a great cast and I can’t wait for them to show the world what it looks like from canine eyes. Once they’re bathed, of course.”

Brown played Elder Cunningham in The Book of Mormon on Broadway and on the national tour, and was Jack in Sternfeld Studio’s immersive Into the Woods, staged in actual woods. Jiménez has Broadway and touring credits in Wicked and the West Side Story tour, and earned Drama Desk and Lortel nominations for Miss You Like Hell at the Public.

Reed was in the original Broadway company of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and went on to play Ginny Potter for more than two years; she also stood by for Laurie Metcalf in A Doll’s House, Part 2. Shively was Tony-nominated for Paradise Square and Drama Desk-nominated for Bright Star, and appeared in the Lortel Award-winning A Man of No Importance at Classic Stage Company.

Richard Israel directs, with casting by Stephanie Klapper. The producer is Mark F. Kaplan through 30 Minutes From Broadway Entertainment, in association with Julius Gaudio, and Aidan Cleary and Labhaoise Magee of Fair Play Productions are the general managers. The production and its premise were first announced here last month.

Tickets are $49 to $99. Each performance also offers two pairs of Pooch Seats at $129: a chair for the owner and a pet bed for the dog beside it. The performance schedule is posted at DogShowNYC.com.
