Savy Jackson becomes the full-time Claire in Maybe Happy Ending at the Belasco Theatre on Tuesday, October 20, moving up from standby. Hannah Kevitt, an original member of the company, plays her last performance in the role on Sunday, October 18.
Jackson joined the Broadway company as Claire's standby on May 19 and has already carried the show once, playing the role for three weeks from August 4 to 22. She now plays opposite Zachary Noah Piser, who stars as Oliver, with Marcus Choi completing the principal company. Kevitt's final performance is at 7 p.m. on October 18.
Jackson's first night in the role coincides with another change at the Belasco. The jazz singer Stella Cole plays Gil Brentley in a four-week limited engagement from October 20 to November 15, while Dez Duron takes a short leave. Duron is due back on November 17.
Jackson made her Broadway debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Bad Cinderella, playing the title role at the Sunday performances. Since then she has originated La Rhette in the new musical Take the Lead at Paper Mill Playhouse and played Aphrodite in the world premiere of Mythic at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Her regional work also includes Ariel in The Little Mermaid and Alana in Dear Evan Hansen at The Muny, and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at Geva Theatre. She is a graduate of the musical theater program at Pace University.
Maybe Happy Ending, with book, music and lyrics by Will Aronson and Hue Park and direction by Michael Arden, opened at the Belasco on November 12, 2024 and won six Tony Awards, Best Musical among them. It follows two outdated helper robots, both nearing the end of their warranties, who find companionship, and possibly love, after a chance meeting. In July it became the longest-running show in the Belasco's history, passing the 687 performances that Dead End set in 1937.
The North American tour, which opened in Baltimore, has original Broadway standbys Steven Huynh and Claire Kwon as Oliver and Claire.
Broadway tickets are on sale through February 28, 2027, at the Belasco box office and through Telecharge. Day-of rush seats cost $49 in person at the box office or $45 through the digital rush, and the "Club 2064" digital lottery offers pairs at $20.64 a ticket.
