Martin Moran will give the world premiere of Other Bodies, the third play in his cycle of solo works, at The Barrow Group from November 19 to December 20, reuniting with director Seth Barrish.
Moran writes and performs the new piece, which takes on a question sharpened by a time of closing borders and rising walls: how people find their way back to each other. The approach is the one his audiences know, candor laced with humor.
The cycle began with The Tricky Part, his account of being sexually abused as a boy, which won a 2004 Obie Award and two Drama Desk nominations. All the Rage followed and took a 2013 Lucille Lortel Award for outstanding solo show. Each later became a memoir. Barrish, a long-time collaborator, now directs the piece that closes the set.
Moran's stage career also runs through Broadway, where he played the radioman Harold Bride in Titanic.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. on Sundays, at The Barrow Group, 520 Eighth Avenue, 9th floor. General tickets are $49, student tickets $25 and opening-night tickets $75; the opening date has not been announced. Details are on The Barrow Group's site.
