Casting Society has named the theater nominees for the 42nd Artios Awards, and its Broadway musical shortlist sets Cats: The Jellicle Ball and Ragtime beside Schmigadoon!, The Lost Boys and The Rocky Horror Show. The winners will be named on February 18, 2027, at ceremonies held the same night in Los Angeles, New York and London.
The Artios Awards have honored casting directors since 1985, and the nominees and winners are chosen by Casting Society’s own members. The list announced on October 7 covers theater, television, commercials and short-form work from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026; feature film nominations follow on December 16. New York’s ceremony will be held at The Edison Ballroom, with Los Angeles at The Beverly Hilton and London at One Moorgate Place.
“Casting is an integral part of authentic storytelling, bringing humanity, originality, and creativity to the stage and the screen,” said Destiny Lilly, Casting Society’s president.
Two names stand out on the theater side. Daniel Swee accounts for half of the Broadway play category on his own, with Becky Shaw, Giant and Proof. Rachel Hoffman appears six times, across the New York musical, regional, special performance and touring categories.
