Xolo Maridueña plays Juan de Marcos in Buena Vista Social Club for seven weeks from November 17, the fourth guest name the production has announced since August as it works its second year at the Schoenfeld.
Xolo Maridueña will make his Broadway debut in Buena Vista Social Club, playing Juan de Marcos from Tuesday, November 17 through Sunday, January 3 at the Schoenfeld Theatre. The engagement is seven weeks, which places it across the holiday trading period the production has been building toward all autumn.
“I’m honored to be making my Broadway debut with the incredibly talented team at Buena Vista Social Club,” Maridueña said. “Broadway has always been a dream, but getting to make that dream come true while being part of such an important and beautiful story feels like hitting the lottery twice. Come ready to laugh, cry, and shake your booty!”
He is the fourth outside name the show has brought in since late summer, and the pattern is deliberate. Gina Torres plays Omara Portuondo from October 13 through November 29; José Iglesias, the Major League Baseball infielder who records as Candelita, has extended as the Narrator through November 15 after a six-week run that began on August 27.
The former New York Yankees outfielder Bernie Williams joins the band for six weeks from October 22 through November 29.
The musical opened in March 2025 and has since taken five Tony Awards, among them Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Natalie Venetia Belcon and a Special Tony for the band, along with the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
Maridueña is 25. His stage credits are two productions at the CASA 0101 Theater in Los Angeles, Light in the Darkness and Little Red.
Television and film audiences know him as Miguel Diaz across six seasons of Cobra Kai, as the title role in Blue Beetle and from Practical Magic 2.
The musical has a book by Marco Ramirez and is directed by Saheem Ali, with choreography by Patricia Delgado and Justin Peck and orchestrations and music direction by Marco Paguia. Tickets are sold through Telecharge and on 212-239-6200, with group sales through Broadway Inbound.
