Photos by David Urbanke, Matt Winkelmeyer and Peter Yang François Arnaud, David Corenswet and Yvonne Strahovski will lead Richard Greenberg’s Three Days of Rain at the Longacre Theatre, with previews from Saturday, January 30, 2027 and an official opening on Monday, March 1, for a strictly limited engagement of 16 weeks.

Tony winner Anna D. Shapiro directs for producer David Binder, who won a Tony for Hedwig and the Angry Inch and whose Broadway credits also include Network. Shapiro took her Tony for August: Osage County and staged the Tony-winning revival of Eureka Day at Manhattan Theatre Club. The Longacre is at 220 West 48th Street. Tickets are not yet on sale, and no on-sale date has been announced.

Greenberg’s play, a Pulitzer Prize finalist, treats an inheritance as a mystery. Siblings Walker and Nan meet their childhood friend Pip in the downtown loft where their fathers, both architects, designed the house that made their reputation. A cryptic journal and an unexpected will leave the three wondering what kind of people their parents were before they had children.

Each of the three actors takes two roles. Arnaud plays Pip and Theo, Corenswet plays Walker and Ned, and Strahovski plays Nan and Lina.

Arnaud starred in the HBO Max series Heated Rivalry and in Showtime’s The Borgias. Corenswet played Clark Kent in James Gunn’s Superman and is currently filming its sequel, Man of Tomorrow. Strahovski, a two-time Emmy nominee for her Serena Joy Waterford in The Handmaid’s Tale, made her Broadway debut in 2012 in Lincoln Center Theater’s Golden Boy, which brought her a Theatre World Award nomination.

Greenberg, who died last year after a career of more than 30 produced plays, won the Tony Award for Best Play for Take Me Out. Three Days of Rain earned him an L.A. Drama Critics Award, along with Olivier and Drama Desk nominations. Earlier notices called the play “world class” (Los Angeles Times) and “moving, provocative and deeply funny” (New York magazine).

Sets are by Todd Rosenthal, costumes by Arianne Phillips, lighting by Donald Holder and sound by Justin Ellington, with wig and hair design by Luc Verschueren for Campbell Young Associates. Rosenthal and Holder are both Tony winners, and Phillips and Ellington have each been Tony-nominated. Gigi Buffington is voice and text coach, and casting is by Caparelliotis Casting.

Jayne Baron Sherman is co-producer, and 101 Productions, Ltd. is executive producer and general manager, with Christopher Taggart. Updates, including ticket news, are posted at threedaysofrain.com.
