Riverdance 30 – The New Generation Sets 47-City North American Tour for 2027

The company of Riverdance 30 – The New Generation in the show's famous line of dancers Riverdance 30 – The New Generation heads back out across North America in 2027, opening in New Haven, Connecticut, on January 22 and playing through May in a tour the producers put at 47 cities in the U.S. and Canada.

The route starts in New England and swings straight up into Atlantic Canada, with Portland, Maine, followed by Moncton, Saint John and Halifax, before Quebec City, Kingston and a four-day sit-down in Montreal from February 4–7. From there the company works west through Pennsylvania, Ohio and the Midwest, reaches Denver for six days from March 23–28, and crosses to California for San Jose, Folsom and a week in Los Angeles from April 12–18. The longest stop on the schedule so far is Toronto, from April 27 to May 9. The last date currently listed is Virginia Beach on May 23.

There is no New York City engagement on the route announced so far. The closest stops are Newark, New Jersey, from February 12–14, Philadelphia from March 4–7 and Syracuse from May 11–13.

The tour was announced on Friday morning, October 16, live on NBC's TODAY, which was broadcasting from County Kerry in Ireland; the company danced a number from the show on air.

This is the same production that crossed the continent in 2025, playing more than 40 cities, including two weeks at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and a weekend at Radio City Music Hall. It was launched in 2024 with a performance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and has since toured to more than 100 North American cities. The 2027 visit returns it to Washington, D.C., from May 14–16.

Built around a new generation of dancers, singers and musicians, the staging sets the familiar Bill Whelan score, which won a Grammy Award, inside a new design. Peter Canning is lead designer, with sets by Alan Farquharson, lighting by Andrew Voller, video by Cosmo AV, costumes by Joan Bergin and sound by Michael O'Gorman.

"This new generation of extraordinary talent brings incredible energy, passion and skill to the stage, and I have no doubt they will blow audiences away," said director John McColgan.

The show has a long history on this side of the Atlantic. What began as a seven-minute interval act at the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest was expanded into a full evening by producer Moya Doherty, composer Whelan and director McColgan, and premiered in Dublin in 1995. Its first North American tour began at Radio City Music Hall in March 1996 with eight sold-out performances, and it opened more than two decades of Riverdance touring across North America.
