Masquerade has released a new photograph of all six performers who play the Phantom in its immersive production, timed to the 40th anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera.

The shot, by photographer Emilio Madrid, catches the company’s Phantoms in costume along 57th Street in Manhattan, beneath the Lee’s Art Shop sign. Producer Randy Weiner, who co-created the show, raised a toast. “Masquerade has been the Phantom’s new NYC home for just over a year, and the response from our audience to the most unique take on his story yet has been overwhelming,” he said. “We’re lifting our glasses (and chandelier) to the Phantom’s 40th anniversary and looking forward to celebrating many more years of Phantom to come.”

Director and co-creator Diane Paulus handed the moment to the cast. “From the very first workshop, Masquerade has been a thrilling collaborative project with the incredible performers who bring it to life,” she said. “There is no Masquerade without our six masked men. Now, and every night, we salute them, in company with the brotherhood of Phantoms who have donned the iconic cloak in London, and stages around the world.”

The production, winner of a Drama Desk Award and an Off-Broadway Alliance Award, is now the only place in New York City to step into the world of the musical, staged as an immersive experience at 218 West 57th Street. Evening performances run Tuesday through Sunday, with matinees on Saturdays and Sundays, and booking currently runs through Sunday, May 30, 2027, following the show’s seventh extension.

In London, where the musical first opened in 1986, The Phantom of the Opera is still running at His Majesty’s Theatre, with tickets on sale through October 2, 2027.
