Nyack, New York, gets a one-night holiday concert on Friday, December 4, when Jason Robert Brown presents Broadway in Nyack at The Angel Nyack at 7:30 p.m., with Jordan Fisher and Mandy Gonzalez as his guests.
The Tony-winning composer of Parade and The Last Five Years makes his home in the Rockland County village, and the evening is a benefit for two local nonprofits: the immigrant support group Proyecto Faro and ArtsRock, the arts organization presenting the night.
Fisher’s Broadway credits include Hadestown, and Gonzalez was in the original Broadway company of In the Heights. April Varner, a winner of the International Ella Fitzgerald Jazz Vocal Competition, joins them as special guest.
“I am convinced there is no better place to make music than in Nyack,” Brown said in a statement. He described the show as one “celebrating the holidays, the hilarity, and the heart of this incredible community.”
The Angel Nyack is at 18 South Broadway in Nyack. Tickets are sold through ArtsRock; prices had not been published at the time of writing.
