The Gene Frankel Theatre Festival is back for a fourth edition: 29 New York and world premieres across three weeks at the Bond Street theater, November 30–December 20.
The Winter 2026 program was picked from close to 200 submissions sent in by playwrights, producers and theater companies, and it runs in several program segments at the Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street in NoHo. Every one of the 29 titles is either a world premiere or getting its first New York outing. The full schedule and the participating artists are listed on the festival's site.
The festival launched in 2025. It is programmed by Thomas R. Gordon, who owns the theater and serves as its artistic director (he also runs the Onomatopoeia Theatre Company), together with actor Francesca Ravera, who has sat on the selection committee since the first edition. Ravera's Off-Broadway credits include Constellations and Truth Be Told in this same room.
The run closes on Sunday, December 20, with the Gene Frankel Theatre Festival Awards Gala, honoring acting, directing, playwriting and production across the program. Gordon and Ravera judge alongside Thomas G. Waites, the actor, writer, director and teacher whose stage work includes American Buffalo opposite Al Pacino and Broadway's Search and Destroy, and who founded the TGW Acting Studio.
Tickets and the performance calendar are available on the festival's official website.
