Delirium extends one final week at the Space at Irondale, now closing November 14

Andrey Burkovskiy and Chulpan Khamatova in Delirium Delirium, the Arlekin Players production of Eugène Ionesco’s Frenzy for Two, or More, has added one last week at the Space at Irondale in Brooklyn and will now close on Saturday, November 14.

This is billed as the final extension, and it is the second the Fort Greene run has taken. When the New York premiere was announced in July, the engagement was due to end on Saturday, October 24; it was later stretched to November 7, and the extra week now carries it to the middle of November.

Igor Golyak adapted the play and directs it. He won four Lucille Lortel Awards for Arlekin’s 2025 production of Our Class, and Delirium reached Brooklyn after its world premiere in Boston earlier this year. Ionesco’s original, Délire à deux, is one of his least staged works: a couple bicker over a trivial question about animals that carry their homes on their backs while the world beyond their walls comes apart.

It is a two-hander for Chulpan Khamatova (Her) and Andrey Burkovskiy (Him), both of whom have left Russia; Golyak has said the pair “carry within their work the urgency and emotional truth of displacement.” The design team is largely the one that built Our Class: sets and props by Jan Pappelbaum, costumes by Sasha Ageeva and music by Anna Drubich, with lighting by Jeff Adelberg and sound by Denis Zabiyaka. Craig Balsam, Patrick Catullo and Thomas M. Neff are the lead producers.

The production opened on September 24, and the New York notices are collected in our review roundup.

The show runs 1 hour 20 minutes with no intermission and is performed in English. The Space at Irondale is at 85 South Oxford Street in Fort Greene, and tickets for the remaining performances are available on our Delirium page.
