Three blue heads, three holiday sweaters, one knitted llama. That is the first look at Blue Man Group “A New Holiday Surprise”, and on November 12 it becomes the first Blue Man show ever to play a Broadway house.
The limited engagement runs at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre from Thursday, November 12, 2026 through Sunday, January 3, 2027, with opening night on Tuesday, November 17. It is the company’s first holiday production in 35 years of work, and its Broadway debut.
The show puts familiar holiday music through the group’s custom-built instruments and sends the Blue Men out to investigate the season — its traditions, its rituals, its small absurdities — with the detours that implies. Generosity, presence, creativity and connection are the themes. Unpredictability is the promise.
“This production marks two exciting milestones: Blue Man Group’s first-ever holiday production as well as its Broadway debut,” said Marie-Josée Adam, president and CEO of Blue Man Group. “This is exactly how we envisioned the iconic trio would re-enter the New York marketplace: with a brand-new show packed with holiday fun, unexpected surprises, and a few twists that only Blue Man could pull off.”
The move uptown follows a short gap rather than a long one. Blue Man Group opened at the Astor Place Theatre in 1991 and stayed 33 years, closing in February 2025 after more than 17,000 performances. The company puts its worldwide audience above 50 million, across that run, residencies in Las Vegas and Orlando, and a long line of tours. Blue Man Group is owned and operated by Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group.
Broadway is one stop of several. The holiday show also plays the CIBC Theatre in Chicago from November 24 through December 13, and the Boch Center–Wang Theatre in Boston from December 15–23, with further markets still to be named.
