Jennifer Van Dyck and Kate Baldwin in Summer, 1976 at Berkshire Theatre Group's Unicorn Theatre. Photo by Caelan Carlough Berkshire Theatre Group has released production photographs of Summer, 1976, David Auburn's two-hander starring Kate Baldwin and Jennifer Van Dyck, which opened at the Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, on October 9 and runs through October 31.

The five photographs are by Caelan Carlough. Baldwin plays Alice and Van Dyck plays Diana, two very different women who meet during the Bicentennial summer of 1976. The play follows the friendship that grows out of that meeting and what it leaves with each of them over the decades that follow.

Auburn won the Pulitzer Prize for Proof and has written and directed several productions for Berkshire Theatre Group. This one is directed by Isadora Wolfe, who staged Metamorphoses for the company last season. Wolfe is an artistic associate of the British company Punchdrunk and was associate artistic director and resident director of its New York production, Sleep No More. She also teaches at The Juilliard School.

Both actors have worked at the company before. Baldwin, a two-time Tony nominee whose Broadway credits include Finian's Rainbow, Big Fish and Hello, Dolly!, appeared there in What the Constitution Means to Me. Van Dyck was last at BTG in Dracula. Her Broadway credits include Hedda Gabler, Dancing at Lughnasa and The Secret Rapture, and she is a regular collaborator of Charles Busch.

Ticket holders can also buy a same-day ticket for the 5pm entry to The Incredible Naumkeag Pumpkin Show, a joint offer with The Trustees of Reservations, one pumpkin show ticket per theater ticket. The offer is booked by phone through the box office at (413) 997-4444.

Summer, 1976 runs at the Unicorn Theatre, 6 East Street, Stockbridge, through October 31, with evening performances at 7pm and matinees at 2pm on weekends. The play is recommended for ages 12 and up. Tickets currently start at $56 on Berkshire Theatre Group's website.
